ATLANTA Sometimes the only gift we need during the holidays is time with loved ones, something one son understood very well when he decided to surprise his mom at work.
In a video posted to Facebook by Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, operating room nurse Kenika receives one of the best gifts a mom could imagine: a visit from her son who's been away from home.
According to the post, Kenika's son has been away training for the Navy but decided to surprise her for the holidays. He worked with his mom's manager to plan the top-secret mission and when Kenika arrived for work Wednesday, she had no idea what was coming.
In the video, Kenika's coworkers direct her to a room where they say a gift is waiting for her. When she opens the door and sees her son, she immediately starts screaming with joy and the two jump into each other's arms in a loving embrace.
The video is short yet beautiful, and a wonderful reminder that family, love and togetherness are some of the best things we can celebrate this Christmas. Hopefully, it puts a smile on your face and encourages you to hug your loved ones extra tight today. Enjoy, and merry Christmas!
