Despite the song's title, fans don't need to wait even another second to hear country singer Scotty McCreery's studio version of "Five More Minutes."
The "American Idol" season 10 winner originally performed the song at the Grand Ole Opry in June 2016, which earned him the Rare Country Award for Opry Moment of the Year in December 2016. According to Rolling Stone, McCreery co-wrote the song with Frank Rogers and Monty Criswell after his paternal grandfather died in 2015. After the live performance's video was posted in 2016, the studio version of the song was released on May 5 of this year, and the official video hit McCreery's YouTube channel on June 13.
