The firefighters from the Los Angeles Fire Departments North Hollywood station recently responded to a different kind of call a call to dance.
The department participated in the Dare to Dance Challenge in support of 3-year-old Finley Smallwood of Corona, California. Smallwood cannot walk on her own due to her cerebral palsy, and she is a candidate for a potentially life-changing surgery, her parents say, and now theyre raising money for the operation and awareness about her disorder with their dance challenge, read the description below the video on Facebook.
The Smallwood family is in the process of raising $60,000 to fund the surgery. A few family friends came up with the idea for a dance challenge.
Seeing Finley dance to Meghan Trainors Better When Im Dancin, inspired her parents to challenge others to create videos of them dancing to that specific song in Finleys honor, according to an article by KTLA News.
The website, doyoudaretodance.com, was created to keep track of the videos and responses that have been flooding in since the LA Fire Departments video was posted on Monday.
