Male participants heartbeats were monitored as they were shown photographs of several women. First, the photographs depicted beautiful models. Makeup accented their features to make them look stunning and unique, but the participants didnt know them personally. Their heart rates were recorded at an average of 80 beats per minute.
Then, the participants were shown pictures of women they know - wives, sisters, grandmothers and daughters. The result was exquisite. While they shared sweet thoughts and memories about the beloved women in the photos, their heart rates skyrocketed over 100 beats per minute.
