DURNESS, Scotland An Australian woman unknowingly wore her engagement ring around her neck for an entire year, according to ABC News.

Upon finding out, she accepted her boyfriends marriage proposal.

As ABC reported, Anna and Terry, a couple living in Tasmania, Australia, dated for one year before Terry gave his girlfriend a necklace for a gift. He described it as a spiral shell, made from Huon Pine.

Anna fell for the necklace, wearing it every day.

The necklaces true contents were revealed a year later. The couple went on a hike in Scotland, where Terry revealed what sat inside the necklace.

"Before we actually went down to the cave, I asked if I could have the necklace to take some photos of it among the rocks, which gave me a quick chance to break the seal with a knife," he told ABC.

She opened the necklace and asked, "Wait, it's been in there the entire time?"

Anna then accepted her boyfriends wedding proposal.

The proposal garnered more than 1 million hits on YouTube.
