When you think of someone with the name Tiffany or Jennifer, you probably think of an 80s baby, but the names Doris and Darlene bring to mind different images altogether.

Your name can give great hints at your age, and thus might be unintentionally aging you, according to a FiveThirtyEight article by Nate Silver and Allison McCann.

By combining information on names from the Social Security Administration and its actuarial tables, which list the number of people born each year that have since died, it is possible to find the median age of a name.

The statistics show that the oldest female name is Gertrude (80 years old) and the oldest male name is Elmer (76 years old), they explained.

The youngest names for girls and boys are Liam (3 years old) and Ava (5 years old).
