GORHAM — Agedia Ann (Leiker) Haselhorst, 88, died Aug. 20, 2015, at Via Christ Village Care Center in Hays.
Born July 26, 1927, in Munjor, she was the daughter of Paul and Ida (Befort)Leiker. She was a graduate of Schoenchen High School. On Aug. 31, 1948, she married Walter J. Haselhorst in Munjor. He died June 29, 1998. She was a homemaker, a farmer and has lived at Gorham since 1955. She was a thrift shop volunteer at the ARC of Central Plains of Hays.
Mrs. Haselhorst was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella both of Gorham, Sunflower Polka Club, and a former member the St. John’s Rest Home Auxiliary.
Survivors include four sons, Dan Haselhorst and wife, Vicki, Great Bend; Leon Haselhorst and wife, Sharman, Great Bend; Laren Haselhorst and wife, Cindy, Gorham; and Dean Haselhorst and wife, Julie, Hays; a daughter, Pamela Truan and husband, Kent, Gorham; two sisters, Virginia Schmidt and Pauline Miller, both of Hays; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter-in-law, Bev Haselhorst; a great-grandson, Justin Haselhorst; two brothers, Norbert Leiker and Gilbert Leiker; an infant brother, Justin Leiker; three sisters, Alexia Robben, Mary Kuhn-Frank and Tillie Windholz; and an infant sister, Irene Leiker.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gorham. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Gorham. A Gorham Daughters of Isabella rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. today with a vigil service at 7 p.m., both at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gorham. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. today and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, both at the church. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary’s Cemetery or Capuchin Province of Mid-America.
