REDFIELD, Iowa — Alan E. Nordman, of Redfield and formerly of Great Bend, passed away suddenly at home Dec. 6. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Great Bend. Family will greet friends for an hour before services. Visitation and prayer services were to be held Wednesday at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel, Iowa.

Alan was born June 3, 1957, to Anna (Oberle) and Henry Nordman in Great Bend. He spent his childhood on a Kansas wheat farm with a love for John Deere. He married Lucinda, daughter of Donna and Orville Frazier of DeSoto, Iowa, June 5, 1981.

Alan worked for several years at Marlette Homes, Great Bend Co-op and a co-op in Iowa, Younkers Department Stores, Triple F Feed Company, and most recently at WalMart.

Mr. Nordman was a member of the Central Iowa John Deere 2-cylinder Tractor Club. He graduated from Otis-Bison High School. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Adel, Iowa.

Alan is survived by his wife Lucinda; daughter, Makayla; parents; Anna and Henry; siblings, Marlene Coker, Evelyn (Roy) Brown and Gary (Pensri) Nordman, all of Wichita, and Janet Liston of Larned; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
