Alice Elizabeth (Zeman) Homeier 2925-2011

WILSON — Alice Elizabeth (Zeman) Homeier passed away Nov. 18, 2011.
Alice was born May 17, 1925 on the family farm in Dorrance, the daughter of Frank and Barbara (Vopat) Zeman
Alice graduated from Wilson High School and Marymount College in Salina. She taught school at Widdifield, Rolling Prairie and Hitchman schools.
On July 28, 1947, she married the love of her life, Lenhardt Homeier. From this union, they were blessed with 10 children. Alice and Lenhardt lived on a dairy farm, and farmed for 37 years in the Dorrance area. She retired to Wilson in 1989.
Alice managed the Bear House Cafe for 18 years. She was a member of the St. Joseph and Wenceslaus Churches and Alter Societies, Daughters of Isabelle, the Catholic Workman and PYW FCE. For the past 16 years, she catered the Soil Conservation District meal in Russell. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.     
Survivors include her husband, Lenhardt; six daughters, Rita Habbart; Mary Lee Bohnen (Sonny); Donna Fay Major (Ron), all of Dorrance; Barb Bowman (Jim), Russell; Alice Mae Prester (Terry), Lyons; Betty Jo Lloyd (Tom), Parker, Colo.; two sons, Will Homeier (Sherry), Russell; and Ralph Homeier (Deb), Dorrance; a sister, Jody Hinnenkamp (Robert), Salina;  and 22 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.   
Alice was preceded in death by sons Robert and Steve; son-in-law Richard Habbart; her parents Frank and Barbara (Vopat) Zeman; five sisters, Agnes Staudinger, Anna Staudinger, Barbara Hlaus, Mary Gerritzen, Sister Mary Leo and two brothers Frank and Emil Leo Zeman.
Visitation is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at Foster Mortuary, Wilson. A vigil service is scheduled at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Wilson.
A funeral service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Joseph (Dorrance) or St. Wenceslaus (Wilson) Cemetery Fund and sent to the Foster Mortuary.
