Alice Jeanette Deines, 83, passed away on Feb. 24, 2023, at Brookdale Assisted Living, Brighton, Colo. She was born on Dec. 21, 1939, in Newark, Ohio, to Carl and Victoria (Grove) Clark. On Feb. 15, 1969, she married Herman Franklin Deines, II in Galatia, Kan. He passed on Nov. 15, 2006.
A long-time area resident, Alice worked as a women’s apparel associate at J.C. Penney for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. In her younger years, she participated in roller skating competitions – a fact of which she gladly shared with family and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Frank (Shannon) Deines, III of Great Bend, Kan., and Derek (Rachel) Deines of Firestone, Colo.; three daughters, Kym Moore of Zanesville, Ohio, Sheryl Stickler of Great Bend, Kan., Tammy (Terry) DiManna of Brighton, Colo.; 12 grandchildren, Travis Ryan, Julian and Austin Moore, Jordan and Jakob Stickler, Lexi, Kaden and Jace Deines, Harley and Paisley Deines, Nicholas and Dominique DiManna; three great grandchildren; four half-brothers, Terry, David, Randall and Steve Clark; and a half sister, Becky Martin. She is preceded in death by her husband; a son, Scott Edward Deines; her parents; stepfather, Julius Barnes; stepmother, Betty Wagner; and half-brother, Dave Clark.
Visitation will take place from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home with the family receiving guests from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home with Rhonda Templing, S.A.M, presiding. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Galatia, Kan. Memorials have been designated to Roller Skating Association International, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
