Alice Marie Dundas, 87, died June 6, 2017, at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend. She was born Aug. 23, 1929, at Moundridge, the daughter of Edwin A. and Frances (Graber) Wedel. She married Gerald Duane “Jerry” Dundas Oct. 10, 1954, at Moundridge. He died July 9, 2009. A Great Bend resident since 1959, coming from McPherson, Mrs. Dundas was an elementary art teacher for Unified School District 428 for 30 years.
Mrs. Dundas was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Barton County Association of Retired School Personnel, life member of National Education Association, and Barton County Historical Society.
Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Reford J. Wedel; and four sisters, Dorothy M. Kaufman, Betty Jane Hetzke, Irene Ruth Wedel and Helen Alice Wedel.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend, with the Rev. Reuben Langat officiating. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
