Alice Mary Nobles 1919 - 2014


GREAT BEND — Alice Mary Nobles, 94, died March 6, 2014 at her home in Great Bend. Born July 18, 1919 in Logan County, she was the daughter of Samuel and Josie (Baugh) Cushinberry. On Dec. 18, 1947 she married Daniel Nobles in Kansas City, Mo. A longtime resident of Great Bend, growing up in Hoisington, she was employed by Pratt and Whitney Aircraft Industries in Kansas City, Mo. during World War II and later was a private home care provider.
Mrs. Nobles was a member of Good Sam’s Camping Club, Black Heritage Club, First Baptist Church, former Great Bend First Baptist Church Mission Ministry, Sunday School Superintendent, and choir member.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel Nobles, of the home; two sons, Danny Nobles and his wife Andrea, Queens, N.Y.; and Loy Nobles, Wichita; two daughters, Connie Nobles, Tyler, Texas; and Dana Nobles of California; and six grandchildren, Dr. LaKenya Williams, Ezekial Jordan, Elijah Jordan, Stephen Nobles, Derrick Triplett and Dedrick Triplett,
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Jessie (Black) Cushinberry; two brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday March 15, at Bryant Funeral Home with the Rev. LeRoy Keith officiating. Burial will be at the Hillcrest Memorial Park in Great Bend. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday, March 14, at the funeral home.
