HATTIESBURG, Miss. — Ann Marie Avila, 33, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Temple Baptist Church with interment in Highland Cemetery to follow.

Ann was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She was an established Registered Nurse in the Hattiesburg area and had served with various medical establishments. But most importantly, she relished in being a devoted wife and mother. She had a beautiful heart and was a shining example of how to help and love others. She enjoyed cooking, being outdoors. She loved animals, especially her dog Polly. 

She is preceded in death by grandfather, Charles Unrein; father-in-law, Armando Avila Panchame; and grandfather-in-law, John W. Murray; great-grandparents, Don and Marjorie Schmitt. She is survived by her husband, Aaron Avila of Hattiesburg; a son, Asher Armando Avila; a daughter, Emery June Avila, both of Hattiesburg; her mother, Helen Unrein Pianalto of Denver, Colo.; father, Carmen (Debbie) Schmitt of Great Bend, Kan.; grandmothers, Mary Unrein of Hays, Kan, June Giles Murray of Summerland, Miss.; a brother, Matthew Schmitt of Pittsburg, Pa.; five sisters, Barb (Tyler) Lindvall of Denver, Colo., Jill (Patrick) Sparks of Denver, Colo., Sue (Brett) Cooper of Great Bend, Kan., Claire Schmitt of Denver, Colo., Katherine (Devin) Ramsey of Great Bend, Kan.; mother and father-in-law, Donna M. and Sonny Nail of Laurel, Miss.; brother-in-law, Armando (Michelle) Avila of Taylorsville, Miss.; sister-in-law, Donna Avila of Laurel; aunt and uncle, Becky and Alan Wilcox of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation for Ann will be at 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Temple Baptist Church. At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice.
