Archie Junior Purcell II, 44, died June 21 at his home in Great Bend. Born June 3, 1968, in Clinton, Ind., he was the son of Archie Junior and Barbara Ann (Elkins) Purcell. On March 20, 1993, he married Tiara Pugh in Great Bend. A longtime resident of Great Bend, he was employed at Ellinwood Packing Plant on the kill floor.
Mr. Purcell was a member of Cheyenne Bottoms Sportsman Club.
Survivors include his wife, Tiara Purcell, of the home; three daughters: Taycota Purcell of Drummond, Okla., Cheslea Purcell and Selena Purcell, both of the home; three sisters, Connie Lynn Kacsel of Dixon, Ill., Teresa Ann Harmon of Enid, Okla., and Tina Merrie Hopkins of Drummond, Okla.; and two brothers, Billy Joe Purcell and Terry Lee Purcell, both of Grove, Okla. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Michael Eugene Purcell; and one brother-in-law, William Joe Hopkins, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 29, at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to the Archie Purcell Funeral Expense Fund, in care of the funeral home.
