ELLINWOOD — Arthur “Art” T. Hammeke, 65, died Sept. 19, 2013 at Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center, Wichita.
He was born Nov. 8, 1947 at Great Bend, the son of Paul L. and Catherine Anderson Hammeke.
He married Karolina “Carol” Speckner Jan. 27, 1971 in Germany. She survives. The longtime Ellinwood resident worked as an accountant and office manager. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Memberships include the VFW and American Legion, both of Ellinwood.
Survivors include his wife, Karolina “Carol,” of the home; a daughter, Maria K. Hammeke, Great Bend; a son, Arthur Hammeke, Jr., and his wife Kerry, and a grandson, Erich, Topeka; his mother, Catherine Hammeke, Ellinwood; and a sister, Paula Knop, Ellinwood.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul L. Hammeke, and a brother, Gregory Hammeke.
