WICHITA — Arthur James “Jim” Robinson, 89, died July 2, 2013.
He was the former owner of Double Eagle Exploration, former Chairman of Kansas Corporation Commission, and former Wichita State University Board of Trustees Chairman.
Jim was inducted into the Kansas Oil & Gas Hall Of Fame, and was also a Golden Gloves Boxing coach and referee. He is a member of Great Bend Lodge No. 15, Kansas York Rite, Scottish Rite 32, and the Midian Shrine Temple.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue (Stan) Brannan and Leslie Horigan; six grandchildren, Jenny, Chris, Andrew, Patrick, Brie, Amanda; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob, Shawn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Jean Robinson; and his parents, Arthur and Ruth Robinson.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East. Graveside services will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, at Nowata Memorial Park in Nowata, Okla.
