Beatrice Marie Bea Schneweis 1932 - 2016

HOISINGTON — Beatrice Marie “Bea” Schneweis, 84, died July 10, 2016, at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. Born arch 13, 1932, in Olmitz, she was the daughter of Arthur F. and Mary (Busch) Maneth. On May 28, 1952, she married Leo Emil Schneweis in Olmitz. He died on March 28, 2006. A lifetime Barton County resident, living in Hoisington since 1952, she was employed at Homestead Villa in Hoisington as an aide and housekeeper for over 20 years.
Mrs. Schneweis was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
Survivors include one son, Eugene Schneweis and wife Kim of Hoisington; one daughter, Patricia “Patty” Quade and husband Brian of Hoisington; one sister, Marjorie Thomas and husband Bob of Ellinwood; brother-in-law, Bernard Wondra of Hoisington; four grandchildren, Michele Mayers, Heather Helvie, Alesia Schneweis, and Michael Quade; and three great-grandchildren, Matthew Mayers, Isabelle Mayers and Isaiah Mayers. She was preceded in death by brother, Arthur J. Maneth; and a sister, Mary Ann Wondra.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hoisington. Burial will be at the St. John Cemetery in Hoisington. Vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. today at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church or St. John Catholic Cemetery, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.nicholsonrickefh.net.
