Bernard (Barney) John Kruse

HOISINGTON —  Bernard (Barney) John Kruse, 70, of Hoisington, died April 5th at Wesley Medical Center. He was born Sept. 17th 1952 in Colby, Kan. the son of Marlin John Kruse and Irene Ann Heim Kruse. 

He went to school in Leoville, Kan. and Graduated from Hoxie High class of 70.

He attended St. Mary of The Plains and graduated from Barton County Community College and Southern Technical College with degrees in Electronic Technology. 

He worked for the City of Hoisington Power Plant and retired as their superintendent. 

Survivors include Justin Bernard Kruse (son), Nicholas Dale Kruse (son), Marlene Tignor (sister), Donna McGee (sister), Patricia Brown (sister), Mary and Gary Deyle (sister), John and Cindy Kruse (brother), Mike Kruse (brother), Susan and Steve Johnson (sister), Dan and Penny Kruse (brother), Christina and Allan Immelman (sister). Barney was preceded in death by his parents and Steve Kruse (brother). 

Barney requested a private burial.

Motorcycle awareness ride from Hoisington to Great Bend on May 6. Meet at the Tap Room. Kick stands up from the Tap Room in Hoisington by 3 p.m. Celebration of Life to follow at the American Legion in Great Bend, food and drinks will be provided. Barney supported several charities and memorials will be collected at the Celebration of life and divided between them a list will be available that day.
