Bernard Bernie Carl Siemers 1934 - 2014

CINCINNATI, Ohio — Bernard “Bernie” Carl Siemers, 79, passed away Feb. 6, 2014 after battling a lengthy illness.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Sept. 3, 1934, he was the son of German immigrants Josephine (Meyer) and William Franz Siemers.  In 1953, he graduated from Menlo-Atherton High School. He worked his way through college and graduated with a degree in Business Administration from San Jose State College in 1958. He worked in the retail sales industry for over 25 years. His hobbies included archery, bowling, softball, sports cars, racing, camping, fishing, hunting, nature study, photography, and travel. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and watching San Francisco Giants baseball and San Francisco 49ers football.  
Mr. Siemers enlisted in the United States Navy and served in reserve status until 1961. He was a member of the International Association of Lions Clubs and the American Legion.  
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Greg Sward, Antelope, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Gene Mulata, Fairfield, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Ginny Siemers, Redwood City, Ohio; sister and brother-in-law, Angie and Bob Fitzsimmons of New Hampshire; sister Mary Jo “Tiffany” Tripp, Clearlake, Ohio; granddaughters Megan Bonilla, Sara Johnson, Kristen Bonilla, and Jenna Johnson; grandson Ryan Mulata; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother Carl; and sister Kathy.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield, Ohio, There will be a gathering after the service in the Garden Room of Bryan-Braker.
