ODIN — Bernard J. Boor, 77, died Jan. 12, 2014 at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington.  
Born June 9, 1936 at Barton County, he was the son of Nicholas Frank and Mathilda (Schneweis) Boor.
Bernard married Carole Jiricek Oct. 7, 1958 at Ellsworth.  A lifetime Barton County resident, moving to the Odin area in 1970, Bernard worked for Barton County, and later was employed as a bull dozer operator for George Tregellas and Allen Drilling.  Bernard was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, both of Odin.
Survivors include, his wife, Carole Boor, of the home; a daughter, Connie Boor, Hoisington; four sons, Steve Boor, Sylvan Grove; Mark Boor, Odin; Chris Boor, Olmitz; and Patrick Boor and wife Lori, Larned; three sisters, Mary Ann Hipp, Great Bend; Geraldine Reichenberger, Wichita; and Leona Myles, Allentown, Pa.  He is also survived by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Jordan Boor.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hoisington.  A Vigil and Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home with Father Pascal Klein officiating.  Interment will be at Holy Family Cemetery, Odin.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
