Bernie Lucille Linenberger, 90, died May 6, 2016, at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation. Born June 19, 1925, in Olmitz, she was the daughter of Erwin and Mary (Schugart) Schneider. On May 12, 1948, she married Paul Joseph Linenberger in Olmitz. He died on may 21, 2013. A Great Bend resident since 1943, coming from Olmitz, she was a registered nurse, working in OB at St. Rose Hospital and later at Central Kansas Medical Center. She then worked for Dr. Anol W. Beahm.
Mrs. Linenberger was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Altar Society and the St. Rose School of Nursing Alumni Association.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Linenberger and his wife Lisa of Olathe, and Ron Linenberger and his wife Kala of Great Bend; one daughter, Mary Lou Beardslee and her husband Jerry of Topeka; two brothers, Ervin Schneider and Marvin Schneider, both of Olmitz; two sisters, Beatrice Gorrell of Arvada, Colo., and Kathleen Bittner of Hays; seven grandchildren, Jason Beardslee, Stacie Beardslee, Amie Murray, Michael Linenberger, Jennifer Chapman, Michael Reichow and Sherri Reichow; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Schneider.
Altar Society Rosary will be at 4 p.m. and Vigil Service will be at 7 p.m., today at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Ted Stoecklein officiating. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Sister Aquinata Penka Nursing Scholarship, in care of the funeral home.
