CHASE — Betty Jane Link, 90, of Chase, Kan., passed away April 8, 2026, at her home in Sterling, Kan. She was born July 23, 1935, in Chanute, Kan., the daughter of Lloyd and Oma (McGinnis) Webb.

Betty has resided in Sterling since 2021, formerly of Chase and Chanute. She worked at Fuller Brush, Great Bend, and Lyons Manufacturing, Lyons. Betty was owner and operator of Chase Sundries and a para educator at Chase Elementary School. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Chase.

Betty enjoyed crocheting, watching game shows on TV, and spending time with her family. She also loved to ride her motorcycle and traveled throughout the United States.

On Aug. 13, 1951, Betty was united in marriage with Leon ‘Petie’ Link in Iola, Kan. He preceded her in death on June 27, 2011. She is also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Leroy, Ira, and Lloyd; three sisters, Lorena, Iris, and OraElla; and two grandchildren. Betty is survived by her five children, Deb Ledford of Sterling, Kan., Mike Link and wife Marietta of Ellinwood, Kan., Glenn Link and wife Vivian of Chase, Kan., Karen Martinez and husband Raul of Lyons, Kan., and Lisa Dumas and husband Randy of Lyons, Kan.; two sisters, Peggy Goodrich of Chase, Kan. and Shirley Schneider of California; 19 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with Pastor Joel Grizzle officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Chase. Visitation will be from 2 until 7 p.m., Monday, April 13, 2026, at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with family present from 5 until 7 p.m. Memorials may be given to American Cancer Association in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
