Betty Jean LoBurgio 1927-2012

ELLINWOOD — Betty Jean LoBurgio, 85, died Oct. 9 at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood. She was born Jan. 16, 1927 at Great Bend, the daughter of Frank Warren Robl and Gertrude Ann Demerath Robl. She was a lifetime Ellinwood resident.
She graduated from Ellinwood High School in 1944 and then attended Fort Hays State University. She was the owner of H & H IGA Grocery in Ellinwood.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Altar Society and Library Board all in Ellinwood.
She married Nick LoBurgio on Feb. 5, 1946 at Ellinwood. He died Aug. 13, 2002.
She is survived by sons, Nicholas J. LoBurgio of Littleton, Colo., Michael F. LoBurgio of Great Bend; daughters, Trudy I. Fry of Sun City West, Ariz., Jeanette LoBurgio-Sheely of Liberty, Mo., Susie Petz of Ellinwood; and brother Frank Warren Robl, Fairview, Texas;  and 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral service is at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ellinwood with Father Charles Mazouch officiating. The calling time will be from 1-8 p.m. on Thursday at Kimple Funeral Home. The Altar Society Rosary will be at 3 p.m. and the Vigil Service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Kimple Funeral Home. Burial will be at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Memorials are suggested to Ellinwood Public School and Library Foundation.
