HOISINGTON — Betty Marie Lipton was born July 4, 1954 to Alberta and Howard Ruckman. Betty was baptized into the Nazarene Church in 1964. She was raised in the Great Bend and Hutchinson communities and was a 1972 graduate of Great Bend High School.  

Betty was united in marriage to Noel Lipton on Sept. 9, 1972. This date was chosen so Noel would not forget his anniversary.

Betty and Noel, who was in the service, traveling this great country with Noel working at various Military Bases. Betty was a homemaker and supported Noel through the good times as well as the rough times.

Betty and Noel had no children of their own. They took great pride in caring and helping with many nieces and nephews.

Betty loved playing Bingo and played many games in Central and Western Kansas. She was a member of the Rush County V.F.W. Auxillary and was involved in the lives of her nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by the love of her life Noel Lipton; grandparents, Grant and Freda, parents, Alberta and Howard; brothers, Billy Grant and Richard Owen; sister-in-law, Bev Owen; sister, Connie Sue; and nephews, Billy and Mike. Betty is survived by brothers Caroll Owen, George Owen and Kenny Hodges; sister-in-law, Barbara Owen; sisters, Gladys George and Shirley Mong-Conrad and her husband Patrick; a host of nieces and nephews. Betty will be remembered and missed by many.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, July 17 at Minnis Chapel, Stafford. Visitation will be Thursday, 4-7 p.m. at the Chapel. Burial will be 2 p.m., Friday, July 17 at Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery at WaKeeney, WaKeeney, Kan.
