Betty Wondra 1931-2011
GREAT BEND — Betty Wondra, 80, died June 9, 2011 at the Great Bend Regional Hospital.
She was born April 29, 1931 at Great Bend, the daughter of Henry J. and Lena L. (Hlavaty) Maneth.
She married Robert Joseph “Bob,” Wondra May 15, 1950 at Great Bend. He died Dec. 19, 2009. Mrs. Wondra, a lifetime Great Bend resident, was a homemaker. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Altar Society, South Homestead EHU and Gemini Twins Club.
Survivors include three sons, Richard Wondra and wife Debbie, Goddard; Mike Wondra and wife Vicki, Garden City; Steve Wondra and wife Joanne, Great Bend; four daughters, Margaret Evers, Great Bend; Barbara Ward and husband Justin, Bentley; Debra Allen and husband Larry, Hudson; Susan Wilson and husband Karl, Great Bend; 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A brother, Alvin Maneth; and a son-in-law, Lynn Evers, preceded her in death.
An Altar Society Rosary is scheduled at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Bryant Funeral Home. A vigil service is scheduled at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Bryant Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 13 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Great Bend, with officiant Father Peter Fernandez. Interment will be at the Great Bend Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Bryant Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to Prince of Peace Parish or Riverbend Assisted Living, in care of the Bryant Funeral Home.
