Blanche Rose (Jiricek) Woodmansee 1923 - 2015

ELLSWORTH — Blanche Rose (Jiricek) Woodmansee, 92, passed away Oct. 29, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Society in Ellsworth. Born March 2, 1923, in Ellsworth County, she was the daughter of Anna (Krizek) and Carl Urbanek. On Jan. 1, 1940, she married Stephen Jiricek in Ellsworth. On June 2, 1989, she married Harvey Woodmansee in Ellsworth. She was a lifetime resident of Ellsworth County and a homemaker and farmwife.
Blanche was a member of Daughters of Isabellas in Wilson, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the St. Bernard’s Catholic Church Altar Society, both in Ellsworth.
Survivors include by her daughter, Carole Boor of Claflin; grandchildren, Stephen Boor of Sylvan Grove, Connie Boor of Hoisington, Mark Boor of Claflin, Christopher Boor of Olmitz, and Patrick (Lori) Boor of Larned; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Jiricek; daughters, Janet, Sharon and Diane; son-in-law, Bernard Boor; great grandson, Jordan Boor; and husband, Harvey Woodmansee.
Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Ellsworth. Burial will follow at the Ellsworth Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. on Monday, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m., at Parsons Funeral Home in Ellsworth. A vigil service  will be held at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Ellsworth, Kans 4 Kids, or Ellsworth County Cancer Fund, in care of the funeral home.
