ELLINWOOD - Brenda V. Green, age 72 years, longtime Ellinwood, Kan. resident, passed away at her home in Ellinwood on Thursday afternoon, April 13, 2023. Brenda was born on March 10, 1951 at Wild Cherry, Ark. to Oren O. and Versie (Chism) Staggs.  She moved to Pawnee Rock, Kan. in 1991 and relocated to Ellinwood about a year later.  Brenda was employed at Great Bend Packing for sixteen years until it’s closure.  She enjoyed gardening, camping, sitting around a campfire, yard sales, computers, and dearly loved her animals.

Survivors include one son, Brandon Green of Ark.; two brothers: Sam (& Sharon) Staggs of Protection, Kan. and Randy Staggs of Larned, Kan.; two sisters: Goldie Elsen of Ellinwood, Kan. and Connie Wallis of Pawnee Rock, Kan.; nieces and nephews. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; a son Billy Dale Green, a daughter Melissa D. Green, and a sister Sylvia Calvert.

According to her wishes, cremation has been chosen and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.  The family requests that Memorial Donations be directed to the Brenda Green Funeral Expense Fund with Charter Funerals of Great Bend, Kan. in charge.
