KINGMAN — Buddy Ray Messick, 76, died Oct. 28 at his home in Kingman, with his wife and children by his side. Born Oct. 28, 1935, near Raymond, he was the son of Clarence and Dora Belle Hughbanks Messick. A Kingman resident since 1984, previously of the Raymond, Lyons and Claflin communities, he was a retired oil field employee.
Mr. Messick was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Raymond Baptist Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and formerly the Lyons American Legion
On April 2, 1955, he married Anna Belle Manwarren at Sterling. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Clarence and his wife Lori; two daughters and their husbands, Clairissa and Steve Maddy and Cynthia and Lynn Lannon; a brother Jack; two sisters Kaye Fore and Bobbie Schultz; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services were on Tuesday at the Raymond Baptist Church. Burial was at the Raymond Cemetery. Memorials may be made with the Hospice Care of Kansas, the Wichita VA Hospital, or the donor’s choice, all in care of the funeral home.
