ELLINWOOD — Carl George Miller, 86, died April 10 at Woodhaven Care Center in Elllinwood. Born Oct. 22, 1924, in rural Barton County, he was the son of Conrad and Anna Reints Miller. On April 9, 1950, he married Evelyn May Bryant. A lifetime resident of Barton County, he was a retired farmer.

Mr. Miller was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church and was a Church Council member, both of Ellinwood; a 19-year member of the Midwest Energy Board of Directors; an 11 year member of the Great Bend Co-Op Board of Directors; a three-year member of the Barton County 4-H Holding Board; and an 11-year Community Leader with the Lakin Go-Getters 4-H Club.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons, Maurice (Lila) Miller of Garden City, Keith (Connie) Miller of Great Bend and Don (Julie) Miller of Geneseo; two brothers, Louis Miller of Bloomington, Ill., and John Miller of Albert; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Abbe, Edward, Martin and Eilt Miller; and a sister, Tena Marshall.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ellinwood with the Rev. Jeff Frakes officiating. Burial will be at the Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday, with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m., at Kimple Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the Barton County 4-H Council.
