Carol Dianne Pfannenstiel, 75, of Great Bend passed away peacefully on Monday, February 1, 2021, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born July 10, 1945, in Great Bend, KS, to William and Doris (Siefkes) Jordan. She married Herbert “Herb” J. Pfannenstiel September 26, 1964, at Great Bend, KS.
Dianne graduated from Great Bend High School in 1963. She worked in the banking industry for over 40 years. Her love for animals developed at a young age and her passion continued well into adulthood. She worked a part time job at Ark Valley Veterinary Clinic for over 20 years. After retiring in 2011, the family raised and raced greyhound dogs until 2017.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert “Herb” J. Pfannenstiel; two sons, Shawn (Dawn) Pfannenstiel of Broken Arrow, OK, and Mark (Tambria) Pfannenstiel of Wichita; six grandchildren, Crae, Chloe, Brooklyn, Taylor, Gavin and Trent; and one sister, Karen Kaul of St. Louis, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents.
The visitation is scheduled from 2:00-9:00 PM on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at Bryant Funeral Home, located at 1425 S. Patton Rd. An Altar Society Rosary will take place at 4:00 PM with a Vigil at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 5, 2021, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, with Father Don Bedore presiding, located at 1412 Baker Ave., with a gravesite burial service to follow at Great Bend Cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required for all services. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dianne’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
