Carol S. Warrick 1914 - 2015

HOISINGTON — Carol S. Warrick, 100, died May 30, 2015, at Pawnee County Community Hospital in Larned. Born Dec. 25, 1914, in Blair, Neb., he was the son of Neum and Blanche D. (Peck) Warrick. On April 21, 1946, he married Lois Stoskopf in Hoisington. She died on May 11, 1998. A longtime resident of Hoisington, he was a farmer.  
Carol was a World War II veteran, serving in the Aleutian Islands with the United States Army as a sergeant and squad leader. He was a member of the American Legion and a 4-H leader for the Eureka Homesteaders Club, and a member of the former Vine United Methodist Church where he was a trustee and served the church in many ways.  
Survivors include a son, Ken Warrick and wife Dianna of Branson, Mo.; a daughter, Jan Smith and husband Max of Lewis; a daughter-in-law, Pricilla Warrick of Chickasha, Okla.; three grandchildren, Sara Warrick of Spring Hill, Aaron Warrick and wife Natalie of Larned, and April Dodrill of Branson, Mo.; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Tym Warrick; seven brothers; six sisters; and a great-grandson.  
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Cariker presiding. Burial will follow at the Hoisington City Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Seedlings Braille Books for Children at seedlings.org or in care of the funeral home.
