Carolyn Jean Schulz (Smith) passed away Dec. 16, 2022 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, Miss. She was born on Oct. 21, 1936 in Great Bend to Ray and Edna (Becker) Smith of Hoisington. 

Preceding her in death were her son, Michael Allan Schulz of Palmer, Alaska; and eight older brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Bernard Ray Schulz; her daughter, Debra Dempsey (Billy) of Madison, Miss.; six grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. 

Carolyn and Bernie lived a lot of different places but called Oregon home. They enjoyed traveling during their retirement years and later residing in Arizona. A private family graveside service is planned at the Bushton Cemetery.
