GREAT BEND — Chance Lane Richards, Jr., 9, died Sept. 15, 2015 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
He was born Jan. 12, 2006 at Great Bend, the son of Chance Lane, Sr. and Lily Lee (Terry) Richards.
Chance enjoyed fishing and swimming. He had a special interest in snakes, lizards, spiders, dinosaurs, fossils and sea shells, dreaming to be a paleontologist one day. One of his most recent joys was attending Kids Ag Day with his classmates and friends.
Survivors include his father Chance Lane Richards, Sr., Lyons; his mother, Lily Lee Richards, Great Bend; two brothers, Chase Richards and Chad Richards, both of the home; paternal grandparents, Ray and Lisa Richards, Lyons; maternal grandfather, Leland Terry, Jr., Great Bend; maternal grandmother, Kelly Terry, Great Bend; two great grandmothers, Carol Palacio, Lyons; and Dee Cartwright, Hoisington; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by several great-grandparents.
The funeral service is scheduled at 11 a.m Saturday at Central Baptist Church in Great Bend with The Reverend John Grummon and Dr. Joan Harrington officiating. Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Bryant Funeral Home.
