GREAT BEND – Charlene E. Strobel, 73, died  May 2, 2014 at Hospice House of Reno County, Hutchinson.
She was born May 1, 1941 at Arkansas City, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Cook) Stoss.
Charlene married Raymond A. Strobel Nov. 11, 1959 at Hoisington. He died March 21, 1999.
She worked for Larned State Hospital and Central Kansas Medical Center as a licensed mental health technician. Living in Lyons for the last three years, Mrs. Strobel was a long-time resident of Great Bend, being raised in Hoisington. She lived in Seward from 1959 until 1975. Mrs. Strobel was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose, Altar Society, and the Central Kansas Association of the Visually Impaired.  
Survivors include two sons, Albert Strobel and wife Tami, Great Bend; John “Duke” Strobel and wife Debby, Russell; a  daughter, Elizabeth “Betty” Hazlett and husband Mark, Great Bend; a sister, Joan Staudinger, Great Bend; a brother, Patrick McKeever, San Marcos, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Don Bedore officiating. A Vigil Service is scheduled at 7 p.m. Monday at Bryant Funeral Home. An Altar Society Rosary will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at Bryant Funeral Home. Interment will be at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Seward.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorial Funds are suggested to the Good Samaritan Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
