Charles L. Charlie Crouse 1941 - 2014

Charles L. “Charlie” Crouse, 73, died Dec. 21, at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born Nov. 20, 1941, in Great Bend, he was the son of Jennings Bryant “J.B.” and Bertha (Reed) Crouse. On Aug. 26, 1967, he married Jean Rush in Nashua, N.H. A long-time resident of Great Bend, also living in Nashua, N.H., he was employed by Nashua, N.H. Police Department, a truck driver for Big A Auto Parts and was a CNA for Elder Care. He was a sports enthusiast and loved his family, especially his grandchildren and his dogs.
Mr. Crouse was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Crouse, of the home; one daughter, Danielle Weber and her husband Rod of Ellinwood; and two grandchildren, Brandon Carr and Shaun Weber. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Bruns and Marilyn Garcia.
A vigil service with rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Ted Stoecklein officiating. Inurnment will be at the Great Bend Cemetery with military rites by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net
