Charles Lee Black 1929-2017

ELLINWOOD — Charles Lee Black, 88, passed away at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood Sept. 17, 2017.
He was born May 7, 1929 in Auburn, Kan., the son of Charles W. and Verna J. (Taylor) Black.
He was a 1947 graduate of Highland Park High School in Topeka, a longtime resident of Topeka and an Ellinwood resident since 1975. Mr. Black worked as a shopkeeper and a cook in Topeka and later worked for Starr Antiques in Ellinwood, where he restored antiques. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ellinwood.
He is survived by a sister, Barbara Black. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lucile Warren.
A graveside service is scheduled at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26 at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood with Rev. Tom Thierfelder officiating.
