GREAT BEND — Clifford “Cliff” R. Jordan, 87, passed away February 21, 2020, at Almost Home, Inc., Great Bend. Cliff was born December 5, 1932 in Claflin, to Elmer Charles, Jr. and Georgia Martha Jordan. He married Joanna “Jo” Miller August 30, 1959, in Great Bend.
A lifetime Barton County resident, Clifford lived in Great Bend. He was a meter reader for 48 years for Centel, formerly Western Power, a member of First Christian Church, and former Scout leader and church youth leader. He was passionate about the outdoors, enjoying gardening, cactus collecting, and walking the neighborhood. His love of the outdoors led him to 25 years of service as a local weather monitor/recorder for the National Weather Service. Above all, Cliff was known as a loving dedicated family man.
Survivors include, his wife, Jo; two sons, Michael Jordan and wife Kathy of Hutchinson, and Scott Jordan and wife Heather of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Lois Nichols of Salina; and two grandchildren, Caroline, and Grant Jordan. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bob Jordan; and a sister, Mae Eaton.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at First Christian Church in Great Bend, with Rev. Josh Leu presiding. Interment will follow at Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend. Visitation will be Noon to 9 p.m., Tuesday, February 25, at Bryant Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. Memorials may be given to Almost Home, Inc., in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
