Clifford James Luke, 72, passed away April 17, 2021, at his home in Great Bend. He was born Sept. 29, 1948, at Rochelle, Ill., to Chalon and Avis (Lewis) Luke. He married Kathleen Spurgeon March 19, 2004, at Gibson City, Ill.
A resident of Great Bend since 2019, Clifford worked in the agriculture and canning industries in Illinois for many years. He enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends. For several years he used his vacation to go on mission work trips at Kemmerer Village Children’s Home. His passion was gardening, especially growing tomatoes.
Survivors include, his wife, Reverend Kathleen Luke of First Presbyterian Church; two sons, Christopher (Lynn) Luke and Corey (Lisa) Luke; a step daughter, Stef Edmisson Mirjah; a step son, Joseph Edmisson; and four grandchildren, Madelyn, Travis, Truman and Scarlett. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Cheryl Luke.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday, June 12, 2021, at First Presbyterian Church, Great Bend. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 10 a.m. at the church, with Reverend Julie Bunt presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been designated to First Presbyterian Church or Kemmerer Village Children’s Home, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
