WICHITA — Connie Lois (Streeter) Sickbert was born April 1935 in Dodge City, Kansas, to James and Marguerite Streeter. She passed on to the Lord September 2017 in Wichita.
She married James Sickbert January 22, 1955, and soon became a loving mother of three children. She made sure that her husband and three children all had a home that was well taken care of and that everyone was loved and well fed.
During this time, the couple lived in Syracuse, Kansas, Wichita, Lawton, Oklahoma, Newton, Kansas, Great Bend, Kansas, Sterling, Colorado, Wichita, Sedgwick, Kansas, Schofield, Wisconsin, and Schaumburg, Illinois, respectively before settling in Great Bend where they became active community members.
She enjoyed arts and crafts of all kinds but had a love for painting and sewing. Socially, Connie was a soprano in Methodist church choir and enjoyed table games with her friends and family, playing cards as her favorite. She sought to be part of a bridge club for her and her husband in each town they resided.
Survivors include: husband James Sickbert; children Marc Sickbert and wife Joyce, Vickie Munro and husband David and Eric Sickbert and wife Cheryl; brother John Streeter and grandchildren Sterling Cosper, Abby Sickbert, Melissa Mares and husband Gary and Jerry Yockel and wife Cheri, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded by: mother Marguerite (Williams) Streeter-Harrington and father James Streeter as well as brother Don Streeter.
The celebration of life service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28 at Foundry Methodist Church in Great Bend with Pastor Aaron Withrow officiating. Inurnment will be at Old Mission Mausoleum in Wichita.
