Connie Strobel

PUEBLO, Colo. — Connie Strobel, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Dec. 15, 2025, at the age of 87. She was born in Great Bend, Kan. on July 28, 1938, to Mylert and Wanda Pryor.

Connie met the love of her life, John Strobel, in 1953, and they were married in 1958. Together, they built a wonderful life, raising their two children, Karen and Michael, and sharing many cherished memories. Connie was a dedicated wife and mother, always putting her family first.

Connie enjoyed golfing, bird and squirrel watching, gardening (where she grew the best tomatoes!), fishing at San Isabel Lake, and mushroom picking on 12 Mile Road. Her love for nature was matched only by her generosity and spirit of community. Connie spent many years volunteering at the St. Patrick Church office and with the St. Mary Corwin Hospital Auxiliary.

She also shared a deep bond with her circle of friends, especially Dolores and Ernie Charlifue, Tony and Lorraine Fasulo, along with the Von Kalbens, the Tracks, and the many young musicians John taught over the years. Connie’s warm smile and kind heart will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Mylert and Wanda Pryor; her brother Ken Pryor; her husband John; and is survived by her children, Karen Bienhoff and Michael (Heather) Strobel; and nieces Heather, Tracy, Anna, and Lori.

The family would like to give special thanks to the amazing staff at Rivaria, formerly Brookdale, who took such good care of her these last two years. They were always so warm and gentle with Connie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Dec. 30 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Pueblo, Colo. Interment will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026, at Great Bend Cemetery, with Father John Stang presiding. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
