Crystal Lea Palmer-Mongeau 1981-2012

SALINA — Crystal Lea Palmer-Mongeau, 31, of Salina passed away Monday afternoon at her parents’ home after a nearly three-year battle with ovarian cancer.
Crystal was born in Hays on June 18, 1981, to Robert Palmer and Karen (Ptacek) Palmer Bond.
She was a 1999 graduate of Lucas-Luray High School and earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Kansas. Crystal and Joe Mongeau were united in marriage March 10, 2012. Crystal worked as a caseworker for St. Francis Community Services in Great Bend, as a school counselor in Clearwater, and as a mental health therapist at High Plains Mental Health Center in Hays.
Survivors include her husband Joe and her step-son, Cody; her mother Karen and step-father Greg Bond, Wilson Lake Estates; three brothers, Terrol (Emilie), Lawrence, and daughter Clara; Justin, St. Louis, Mo.; and Kevin (Krysta), Luray, and daughters, Kadence and Keira; two sisters, Amy (Jared Erickson), Kansas City, Mo., and children Audrey and John; and Erica Palmer, Lawrence; a step-brother, James Bond (Jenifer), Tupelo Miss., and son Tristan; a step-sister, Sharian Spencer (Martin), Santa Monica, Calif., and children Jack, Henry, and Caroline; maternal grandmother Flossie Malsom of Great Bend and her husband and step-grandfather Tony Malsom; and paternal grandmother Elissa Palmer, Lucas.
Her father preceded her in death in 1995.
The funeral Mass was held at St. Mary’s Queen of Angels, Russell.
