Curtis Lee “Curt’ Delgado 1967-2011
PAWNEE ROCK — Curtis Lee “Curt” Delgado died June 16, 2011, at his companion’s home in Pawnee Rock.
He was born January 30, 1967, at the Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend.
A Great Bend resident nearly all his life, Curtis was not one who punched a time clock. He was born and died a free spirit. He worked where and when he wanted to. He was never married, but has a son by a former companion, Melody Carlson, of Shawnee, Okla. He loved the outdoors and was an avid artist.
He is survived by his parents, Frank and stepmom, Gwini Delgado, Great Bend; a son, Randall Lee Delgado, Shawnee, Okla.; three brothers, Timothy Aaron Delgado, David Dwayne Delgado, and Mark Weston Delgado, all of Great Bend; two step sisters, Julie Divine, Oklahoma City, Okla; and Dawn Buss, McPherson; two grandsons, Colton Lee and Waylon Joseph, both of Shawnee, Okla; two very caring companions, Penny Lohr, Pawnee Rock, and Desiree Werth, Holyrood, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Carol Ann (Pfeifer) Delgado on March 10, 1973; his niece, Crystal Dawn Harris Delgado; his paternal grandfather, Julian “Pancho” Delgado; and his maternal grandparents, Celestine and Monica Pfeifer.
Cremation has taken place, and he will be put to rest with his mother at his request. A graveside memorial service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 5 at Great Bend Cemetery, with Pastor John Grummon officiating.
