Dale E. Carr Jr., 74, died Sept. 19, 2011, at Great Bend Regional Hospital.

He was born July 21, 1937, at Ellis, the son of Grace Evelyn (Miskelson) Carr.

A lifetime Pawnee Rock and Great Bend resident, he was a carpenter. Mr. Carr was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his father, Walt Crist, Great Bend; three brothers, John Carr, Great Bend; Gordon Crist, Dayton, Ohio; and Ed Crist, Bunker Hill; and four sisters, Jan Flint, Great Bend; Karen "Kay" Gilkey, Hutchinson; Gloria Callaway, Pratt; and Tonya Appel, Larned. He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Crist; and a sister, Sandra Newkirk.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Sweany officiating. Burial will be in the Pawnee Rock Cemetery. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Dale E. Carr Jr. Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
