LARNED — Dale Otte, 76, passed away Oct. 17, at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Born Jan. 4, 1938, in Great Bend, he was the son of Wilmer and Leah Dorfshaffer Otte. A longtime area resident he was a farmer/stockman. On Sept. 16, 1956, he married Karen Rice in Great Bend. She survives.
Mr. Otte was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Pawnee County Relay for Life, Santa Fe Trail Center Wet/ Dry Routes Chapter, Pawnee County 4-H Leader, Farm Bureau past president and a past board member for the Pawnee County COOP; and most recently received the Faye Anderson Award.
Other survivors include, two daughters, Lori Blakesley and husband Rick, of Hutchinson and Kim Gevara and husband Steve, of Larned; a sister, Lois Schimmels of Clinton, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Fisher, Matthew Finger, Jacob Finger, Audree Senestraro, Emile Blakesley, Tanner Blakesley and Bryce Gevara; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Jennifer Finger.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. today at the First Presbyterian Church with Dr. David Hales presiding. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Santa Fe Trail Center or the First Presbyterian Church, both in care of the funeral home. Personal condolences may be left at www.beckwithmortuary.com.
