SYLVIA – Daniel B. Burgey Jr., 63, died Feb. 11, 2015, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. Born Sept. 12, 1951, he was the son of Daniel B. and Beverly Clark Burgey. On Aug. 25, 1977, he married Kathy Jo Bruer. She died Feb. 21, 2009.
Mr. Burgey served with the United States Marine Corps from 1969 to 1972.  
Survivors include his children, Dawn Westfahl and Joe Burgey; mother, Beverly Burgey; and sisters and brothers, Sandy Ratley, Judy Humphrey, Debbie Liebl, Robin Brookman, Pam Nafzinger, Shawn Burgey, Shari Chansler, Duke Burgey, Gidget Cooper and Larry Burgey; sister-in-law, Theresa Kraus; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Burgey; and son-in-law Matt Malmstrom.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14,  at Minnis Chapel in Stafford with Steve Gill presiding. Burial will be at the Sylvia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Hospice House of Reno County or a Love Gift, both in care of the chapel.
