Darlene Ann Biggs, 79, died Jan. 5, 2015, at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born Oct. 12, 1935, in Groton, S.D., she was the daughter of Clarence and Bessie (Eikanas) Craig. On March 26, 1956, she married Daniel Noah “Danny” Biggs at Kingman. He died July 14, 2008. She attended Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen, S.D., and was a third and fourth grade teacher in Faith, S.D. She was a resident of Great Bend since 1962, coming from Kingman.
Mrs. Biggs was a member of First Christian Church, various church women’s groups, various bridge clubs, and ladies golf. She was formerly a member of PEO.
Survivors include two sons, Craig Biggs and his wife Jolene of Great Bend, and Kim Biggs and his wife Kimberly of Edmond, Okla.; one daughter, Kelly Bowman and her husband Rob of Great Bend; one brother, Doug Craig  and his wife Brenda of Claremont, S.D.; eight grandchildren, Amanda Biggs Jenkins, Justin Biggs, Lindsay Biggs, Jarad Biggs, Brent Biggs, Brittany Bowman, Kristan Bowman, and Jace Bowman; and five great-grandchildren, Khloe Bowman, Austin Biggs, Avery Biggs, Max Biggs, and Logan Biggs. She was preceded in death by one brother, Dayle Craig; and two sisters, Donna Bahr and Doris Zimney.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at the First Christian Church in Great Bend with the Rev. Sue Bishop and the Rev. William F. Johnson officiating. Burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church or Almost Home Inc. (a residential end of life care facility), in care of the funeral home.
