David C. Gardiner 1960 - 2014

SALINA — David C. Gardiner, 54, died  Sept. 20. Born Jan. 11, 1960, in Larned, he was the son of Gordon A. and Mary Anne (McConahay) Gardiner. In 1978, he graduated from Salina High School South. He joined the Army after he graduated from high school and was stationed in Europe for many years as a food inspector for the Army. He graduated from K-State with a degree in food science. He worked at the Great Bend Packing plant in Great Bend before retiring in Salina.
Survivors include his father, Gordon A. Gardiner; siblings, John E. Gardiner, Margery L. and husband Donald Good, and Christlieb E. and wife Julie, all of Salina, Gary G. and wife Darlene of York, S.C., and  Heidi A. and husband Keith Eschliman of Hutchinson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Anne Gardiner; and brother, Gordon A. Gardiner, Jr.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, at Church of the Incarnation, 639 Max, in Salina with the Rev. Randy E. McIntosh officiating. Inurnment will be at the Gypsum Hill Cemetery in Salina. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salina Animal Shelter, the Wounded Warrior Project or Church of the Incarnation, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth.
