David F. Ellis, 58, of Great Bend, died Dec. 11 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. He was born Nov. 21, 1952, at Great Bend, the son of Clifford John and Laverne L. (Lewis) Ellis.
A lifetime resident of Great Bend, David was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. He attended schools in Great Bend until an auto accident on Sept. 26, 1971. He loved his Lord, family, and his dog Max. He was an avid artist, hunter, marksman, and auto and sports enthusiast.
Survivors include one brother, Johnnie Ellis and wife Willie of Parsons; and five sisters, Lucy Kennedy of Hutchinson, and Elizabeth Stambaugh and husband Monte, Barbara Ellis, Janice Lohr, and Becky Gilliland and companion Ed Chapman, all of Great Bend. He was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Ellis, and one sister, Joan Ellis, and by one brother-in-law, Jim Kennedy.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Great Bend, with the Rev. Adam Wutka officiating. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Bryant Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
