David Ralph Scott, 74, passed away on February 26, 2021 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas. He was born on June 23, 1946 in Ransom, Kansas the son of Ralph and Lavon (Squier) Scott.
David was a highway maintenance man working for the Kansas Dept. of Public Transportation. He was a member of the First Mennonite Church, VFW Post No. 7972, both of Ransom, and the Sunley-Squier Post No. 382 American Legion of Brownell. He married Doris Ummel on May 17, 1980, in Ransom, Kansas. She survives.
Other survivors include his son, Aaron Scott of Emporia; his daughter, Berneice (Gary) George of Russell; 2 grandchildren, Braxton and Natalya George, and a brother, Jim (Patti) Scott of Hays. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, March 6, 2021, 10:30 A.M., at the First Mennonite Church, Ransom. Burial will be at a later date. Friends may sign the book at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, from 9:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M., with the family present on Friday, March 5, 2021, from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the First Mennonite Church of Ransom or the VFW Post No.7972.
