ELLINWOOD — David Wayne Burroughs, 62, passed away in Wichita on May 9, 2021 with family present. He was born in Ellinwood, Kan. on June 25, 1958, to Dale and Mildred Burroughs. He graduated from Ellinwood High School in 1976. He was married to Vickie Bohrer and they had two children. They later divorced.

He worked as a mechanic and carpenter for several years. Upon his death, he was employed by Cabela’s in Wichita as manager of the archery department. He had exceptional talent using his hands and a sense of humor that never quit.

Survivors include, his wife, Pam, of the home; parents, Dale and Mildred Burroughs, Ellinwood; sister, Dana (Jerry) Pfanenstiel, Scott City, Kan.; son, Chad (Kammi) Burroughs, Great Bend, Kan.; daughter, Ashlee Dressler, Eudora, Kan.; stepson, Donnie Young III (Monica); stepdaughter, Kara Henry-Fortier (Will) of Wichita; grandchildren Cooper Burroughs, Kipton Burroughs, Braydon Gardner, Amillia Dressler; stepgrandchildren, Donnie Young IV, Damian Young, Beau Young; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, 503A SE 110 A venue, Ellinwood, Kan. on Tuesday, May 18th at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be designated to Rivers Edge Archery in Ellinwood.
